Why didn't my seeds germinate?

There could be a few reasons why the seeds did not germinate.

  1. The soil temperature could be too cold (spring) or too warm (fall)
  2. The soil could be too wet or too dry.
  3. Seeds could be planted too deep or too shallow.
  4. The seed may not have good contact with the soil.
  5. Seeds germinate at different rates and it could be too soon. Seeds take longer to germinate in cooler soils.

It is important to follow the directions on the packet to avoid germination troubles.
