This is called conditioning the flowers. To condition your flowers, you should follow these steps:
- Bring a bucket of warm water with you when you cut flowers and put them in the water as soon as they are cut.
- It is best to cut them at an angle.
- Let the flowers sit in the bucket in a cool shady spot. Keep plants out of the sun for a few hours or overnight.
- Adding some cut flower food will extend their life.
- Make a fresh cut to the stem at an angle when you move them to their vase.
