Why did my kohlrabi not form a bulb?

Kohlrabi is very sensitive to over crowding in if too close together the plants will become stunted and not produce a bulb.
Kohlrabi benefits from an application of fertilizer especially nitrogen, if they do not get enough fertilizer they can not produce a bulb.
Kohlrabi is sensitive to its environment, it does not tolerate heat or lack of water.
