What is the difference between a determinate and indeterminate tomato?

Determinate varieties will set fruit over a 2-week window for harvest over a short period and generally have a smaller plant habit. This makes them great for containers.

Indeterminate varieties set fruit later in the season over a longer window and have larger plant habits. This is many times your large slicers and prolific cherry tomato varieties.
