How can I support my tomato plants as they grow?

Supporting your tomatoes keeps the tomatoes off the ground. Support keeps the fruit cleaner and reduces the bugs.  Support will help to increase air circulation which helps to prevent disease. It also makes harvesting easier.

The easiest way to support your tomatoes are Cages. Simply unfold the cage and place it in the ground with in two weeks of    you are planting your tomato plants in the garden. As plants grow the cage will support them.

You can also use stakes but they do take more work. Hammer the stake in the ground at the same time you plant your tomato as the plant grows continue to tie the plant stem to the stake. Use Soft Twist Ties so you do not damage the stem.
